Welcome to the Coonsequences Cattery

A Maine Coon breeder In East Yorkshire

My name is Sue Rogerson and I live in East Yorkshire with my Maine Coons. I have 12 Maine Coons currently and a rescue cat called Bonnie, who has learnt to be long suffering now the Maine Coons have taken over my life!
I have always loved cats and indeed have been a slave to them for many years! All my previous cats have been moggies but were still treasured members of my family. I had four cats who shared my house in Kent with me, but when I moved to Yorkshire and realised how much more room I had here, I started to think about some more additions! Sadly, my original Kentish cats have all passed on now, but before I was left orphaned, I introduced two rescue cats to the
family, Bonnie and Clyde.
These two little tearaways were kittens when I took them home, but both had a sad start to thier lives. Bonnie (the girl) had been dumped at a very young age and had to be hand reared by the rescue centre, and Clyde (the boy) was found abandoned on a rubbish tip. Unfortunately Clyde could not give up his love of the great outdoors and one evening he fell foul of a passing car. I missed him terribly and so did Bonnie as they were great friends. When I first saw them at the rescue centre Bonnie was stretched out asleep using Clyde as a pillow!

The house felt quite empty without Clyde so I decided that now was the time to increase my cat family with Maine Coons. I had already been doing some research into the breed as I had seen them at cat shows and had fallen in love with them.

I spent 3 months looking for the right Maine Coons, and then one day I had  an email from a breeder I had emailed which had two photos attached of the kittens she had remaining & that was it,  I fell in love instantly. I phoned the breeder and we chatted, I went to see the kittens and the rest, as they say is history. So thanks to Lorraine Swain for entrusting me with two of her beautiful Maine Coons - Ragamews Two Feathers and Ragamews Cheyanne aka Oscar and Emmy. Oscar is my show cat and he is a show-off, he loves the attention and gets very excited when he goes to shows. He has always done very  well and has had two red card days. Emmy  has been to one show but did not enjoy it like her brother, even though she won her class, she hasnt been again. My next Maine Coon  was Leshamure TabithaofRoos (Mollie), who was my first breeding queen, who has now been retired. I also have Coonsequences Snoqualmie (Mia) and Coonsequences Babylon and Coonsequences Ephesus as my new girls, I will hopefully use for breeding. I have two other neuter girls Coonsequences Buttons and Coonsequences Cara Trish who sadly didnt work out as breeding queens but are much loved pets. l have four boys all neuters Purdyston Lordofthedance (Bailey) and Purdyston Foxtrotcharmer (Whisky), who we also fell in love with on a visit to Jon and Linda Calvert. Bailey accompanies Oscar to shows and also seems to quite enjoy them too. The final two boys are Coonsequences Rhodes and Coonsequences Olympia.

So for now my family is complete but you never know when there will be another Maine Coon to fall in love with and add to the ever increasing cat family!
